Continuing with the classics of Marathi Naatya Sangeet, here is another composition reflecting different moods of Raagaas. We still don’t know the artiste’s name so it will greately help if any of you can let us know the names of the artistes as we go on posting more of Marathi Naatya Sangeet on Artmap.
These are old recordings done in mono and not stereo. The file size, therefore, will also be small.

Decades ago in Maharashtra, plays were massively popular and the most common events of public entertainment. Why? Because they had a lot of classical music which was popularly termed Naatya Sangeet. Unlike modern orchestras, Naatya Sangeet was performed mainly with traditional classical instruments like the Harmonium, the Tabla, the Sitar, the Flute and the Sarangi (though I am not very sure if Sarangi was used in Naatya Sangeet). If you are wondering what kind of music I am talking about, download and listen to this classic and very popular melody.
I don’t know the artiste’s name and feel guilty about it. If anyone of you know, please mention it in your comment.
